The LTR is Thailand's flagship long-term visa, launched to attract professionals, retirees and wealthy individuals. It comes in four categories — Wealthy Global Citizens, Wealthy Pensioners, Work-from-Thailand Professionals and Highly-Skilled Professionals — each with its own qualifying criteria.

Holders receive a 10-year visa (issued in 5+5), fast-track immigration processing, and specific tax treatment on foreign income. The application process runs through the Board of Investment (BOI) rather than immigration.
